I was at a Landscape talk by Slawek and asked him to run a South Downs workshop for a small group of friends. It was a new style for me, using a long zoom to compose on a smaller area the view and excluding any sky. (I’ve previously gone very wide, with big skies). As well as composition, Slawek gave coaching on exposure and using the histogram, plus camera settings when needed. Even though the weather wasn’t completely with us, I’m quite pleased with the images and I learned some techniques which I will endeavour to put into practice. It was a relaxed, enjoyable afternoon too.
